Heidi Lu
Heidi Lu is a recent graduate of the GSA, having completed her master’s dissertation under Lesley Lokko and Sumayya Valley in Unit 12. Heidi was born to a Taiwanese father and an Indian mother. Her interests expressed in her first year of Master’s (M1) dealt with finding an Architectural expression for mixed heritage in Reunion Island- an overseas department of France and in her second year (M2) looked at the construction of Home, in the West African diaspora within the context of Morocco. Heidi has adopted the role of Time Traveller, Choreographer and Architect. Her interests lie in the trans- Saharan/ Atlantic trades and their subsequent development of race, hybrid cultures, identities and questions of ‘ What is and Where is Home?’. Her work moves between narrative, choreography, collage and montage, models , performance and film.
