Home is our first real mistake. It is the one error that changes everything, the one lesson you could let destroy you. It is from this moment that we begin to build our home in the world. It is the place that we furnish with smell, taste, a talisman, a name. -1

Going Viral: A Journey Through Space and Time
Going Viral: A Journey Through Space and Time
Dr. Dale Kitchin
Dale completed his PhD in Microbiology at Wits University in 2017 and is currently a postdoctoral research fellow at the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD). He has always been fascinated by the origin, spread and evolution of viruses, and how viral diseases shape human societies. His current research focuses on understanding how the human immune system responds to HIV infection and how we can harness these insights to develop an HIV vaccine. He is a firm believer and advocate that new and future vaccines will prove to be mankind's greatest protection against existing and emerging viral diseases.
