The project centre’s a women’s shelter (as its various forms) within Cairo in Talaat Harb Street. The site noted as notorious large groups of men having attacked  several women in the street through various international media  reports. This project acts as a response to that event by prototyping  (or speculating/proposing) the  architectural realm of a safe sanctuary and the archetypes that govern  the thresholds of access (visual and physical) and supervision into,  within and through this shelter. Additionally, the project proposes the  prototype of the women’s shelter to empower women through acts of  spatially revealing and concealing performed by the archetypes of the  door, window and façade.
