Home is our first real mistake. It is the one error that changes everything, the one lesson you could let destroy you. It is from this moment that we begin to build our home in the world. It is the place that we furnish with smell, taste, a talisman, a name. -1
“Disneyland is presented as imaginary in order to make us believe that the real (i.e the world outside Disneyland) is real., whereas in fact all of Los Angeles and the America surrounding it are no longer real, but of the order of hyperreal and of simulation” -2

The research focuses on manipulations and truth censoring around events of spaces that are caused by individuals or governments for their own interests. Particularly focusing on How may the ‘truths’ of these spaces, events and activities be augmented or shunted by surveillance gazes in turn reproducing untruthful representations of spaces? What are the methodologies that can be developed to keep unpacking, mapping and exposing the hidden phenomenon of these ‘truths’? How does surveillance of such spaces attribute to hyperreal versions of themselves? The project finds newly uncovered ways of truth seeing and truth building. This affords us the ability to understand contexts truthfully and enables us to do the right decisions around acting accordingly to those contexts.
The project imagines installations within areas and landscapes of control to mark and signal truth censorship. Using Tahrir Square, Egypt as a site of enquiry and intervention, It develops a space prototypes as a toolkit that deconstructs events, occurrences and as a result archives it for the general public. In the case of the project unable to get re-enacted in the physical space, it re-imagines it in a virtual world.
